About Me

My name is Alina Drufovka, or just “Abstract” on the trail. I am a Colombian-American illustrator and painter who loves to create groovy, nature-inspired designs. Art has always been a passion of mine, but it wasn’t until 2020 that life slowed down enough for me to pursue my art more seriously. Forced inside due to the pandemic, and briefly stuck abroad in Costa Rica, my trail design series was born!

For the past 4 springs of my life I had always been gearing up and embarking on a new thru hike; the Appalachian Trail in 2015 & 2017, the Israel National Trail in 2018 and the Pacific Crest Trail in 2019.

After 5,000+ miles of life spent on trail, I now transform all the nostalgia and beauty from my treks into surreal portal paintings back to the “trailverse!"

My Mission:

  • Help people reconnect with their journeys in wilderness through art
  • Commemorate life on trail and the culture of long distance backpacking
  • Promote diversity in the outdoors
